As a natural slob, the top of my dresser is a place where I just throw stuff that happens to be in my pockets. Pretty soon it's a disaster area. I started making these small boxes to give guys a place to dump keys, change, odd bits of paper, etc.
It also gives me a chance to use up some nice, but really small bits of wood and save them from the scrap pile.
This first one is made from curly maple with a top out of quartersawn sycamore.
It's constructed with handcut dovetail joints and has a removable divider on the inside.
The finish is French-polished orange shellac. The approximate dimensions are 6" L x 5" W and 3" H.
This next one is made out of mahogany with a mango wood top.
The interior has a removable divider.
